Autumn colors, the last of the season!

This has been a real “hinky” autumn color season here in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  We have been under a drought for the last few months and the temperatures have been abnormally high for this time of year.  Heck, last year we had 3 inches of snow on this date.

The colors, in my humble opinion, have been dull, especially  on the back forest service roads.  This might also be from all the dust (re:drought) spewing up from the vehicle traffic on these dirt roads.  Anyway, unless something really snaps at me, I probably will not be posting anymore autumn colors after this.

Sigh, now its soon to be what my ex son in law referred to as “sticks and stones” weather.  Hopefully we will have snow and some freezing weather before spring, lol!
